Human Trafficking: Do You Know Who is in Your Exam Room?

ABOUT THE WEBINAR:

Human trafficking is a global health and human rights issue involving the exploitation of millions of people and yielding profits of more than $150 billion per year. Healthcare professionals can be a victim’s most promising lifeline when they have the knowledge and tools to identify and respond appropriately. To be able to serve this vulnerable population, providers and staff must be able to identify and provide care with a trauma-informed approach while factoring in the legal and ethical issues.

Objectives:

• Recognize red flags and clinical indicators of Human Trafficking
• Gain an understanding of the elements of trafficking
• Utilize screening tools used to help determine if a patient may be a trafficking victim
• Understand the importance of Trauma-Informed Care as it related to Human Trafficking
